The team approached us with a concept to redefine modern Japanese cuisine by introducing the city to a modern-punk rock approach to Japanese food. Our brief was to deign the identity of the brand to bring to life the vision that the owners had by mixing American punk-rock and Japanese aesthetics to showcase a never before seen spectacle. We had to aesthetically marry the two into an identity that would be the buzz of the town and also showcase lip-smacking food. Post the designing of the identity we were tasked with creating a social media presence that would do justice to the brand and showcase the brand’s in-your-face approach.

By marrying American punk-rock and Japanese aesthetic we intended to introduce a new, upbeat and modern dining experience that very few in the city would have experienced. The environmental design, the packaging and even the table placements were designed to reflect this aesthetic through the use of neon signs, bright colours and striking graphics. The social media also followed the same identity with the bright colours and striking graphics creating a huge buzz even before the opening of the restaurant. To further market it, we introduced the city’s first “Cherry Blossom Sake festival.” This first of its kind festival was a huge hit with the customers and led the restaurant to become the talk of the town!
